This made me remember the old neighborhood. For most of the life of our big bad black dog Shadow, he was down there plunging into the water under the bridge to fetch anything we threw in there. Sticks were easy. But he'd go after a rock, too. We'd find anything from a pebble to a river rock and throw it as far as we could. It would splash and sink on impact and that dog would paddle around under the bridge trying to find it. It made no difference if the river was staid or rushing with white caps. At 110 pounds he was so strong he could paddle himself upstream in fast-meltng snow pack. Your canoe appears to be heading upstream. Not too much I pushback this time of year. It's so quiet there now. David's brother lives on Sherlock and Jacob Way. He and his dog Buster walk off trail every morning. We stayed there for four days in January while Verathane fumes died down after refurbishing our floors. I love being downtown, but I realized how much I missed our easy access to the river.

Are the proposed homes on the Rancho Cordova or Arden side? No matter the answer, this is where I stop public comment. Private conversation needed.

Did you buy yourself a canoe and gear?

I bought a kayak, but I don't have the experience or courage to paddle moving water. In addition, I can't shoot pictures and paddle anything at the same time. Yes, I know about GoPro, but as long as I have Tom, an expert canoe racer, I'll keep asking him for rides. It's an amazing experience.
